Ambassador Gurjit Singh is a veteran Indian diplomat with 37 years of distinguished service in the Indian Foreign Service, known for deepening India’s strategic and economic ties across Asia, Africa, and Europe. As an Advisory Leader at IIRIS, he brings rich experience in geo-economic diplomacy, policy negotiation, and multilateral partnerships.
He served as Ambassador of India to Germany, Indonesia, Ethiopia, and the African Union, and held key positions in Tokyo, Rome, Colombo, and Nairobi. Known as a business-friendly diplomat, he championed investment promotion, cultural engagement, and institution-building—playing a pivotal role in India-Africa Forum Summits, India-Japan business dialogues, and India-ASEAN cooperation.
A prolific author, Ambassador Singh has written several well-regarded books on bilateral relations and development diplomacy. His work in public service delivery and passport reform in India also earned widespread recognition.
