Stephen Peter Swain is a seasoned security strategist and CBRNE expert with decades of leadership across policing, consultancy, and EU-level research. As a Leading Advisor at IIRIS, he brings advanced insights into counter-terrorism, protective security, and innovation in threat response.
A former Chief Superintendent with the Metropolitan Police and Head of the Diplomatic Protection Group at Scotland Yard, Stephen oversaw 650 firearms officers and shaped protective protocols for high-risk environments. He currently serves as Associate Director at CBRNE Ltd, where he leads threat research and policy delivery on behalf of the EU.
Stephen is also CEO of the Security Innovation and Technology Consortium and lectures internationally on counter-terror strategy, firearms tactics, and business continuity. His works have been published by Routledge and Intersec Journal, and he has delivered presentations in over 30 countries on global security.
