Physical Protection System (PPS) is a system which integrates people, procedures, and equipment for the protection of assets or facilities against theft, sabotage or other malevolent human attacks. The objective of implementing PPS at a facility is to optimally safeguard the assets of that facility. Optimisation of security involves three important activities; risk assessment through which the vulnerabilities of the facility can be assessed, system design to plug the physical security gaps and project management for execution of the asset upgrade activities. IIRIS follows the principles outlined in ISO 31000 to establish a reliable basis for decision making and planning, effectively allocate and use resources for risk treatment and improve security team’s operational effectiveness.
